Wolf SO30-2U Door Sagging or Glass Cracked?

What fails on it
- Worn hinges The door drops the last few inches instead of easing shut, or one corner stands proud of the frame when it is closed.
- Cracked door glass Any crack, chipped edge or line running across the glass. Switch the oven off and keep it off until new glass is fitted.
- Haze inside the door A film you cannot wipe away from either side, because it has formed between the layers of glass inside the door.
- Flattened gasket Heat escapes along one edge of the door, and the handle or the cabinet face above feels warmer than it used to.
Why the door stays on until the visit
Wolf’s guidance on oven doors, which covers its E Series wall ovens, strongly recommends leaving door removal to service and warns that a door refitted wrongly can hurt the oven’s performance. At wall height, a glass door is also awkward to lift off and hold level.
What helps before the visit is simply looking. Note which corner sits high, where you feel warmth escaping, and whether a crack is on the inner or outer face of the door.
Matching the part to your oven
The SO30-2U came as the SO30-2U/S from 2007 to 2009 and the SO30-2U/S-TH from 2009 to 2013. The exact line is printed on a plate just under the controls, toward the right, which you can see once the door is open.
With the door off, hinges and gasket are checked together, since a door that hangs crooked also presses unevenly on its seal. The hinge, glass or seal that failed is then looked up against that line and your serial number, and priced before anything is ordered.

- Can I keep using my SO30-2U with cracked door glass?
- No. Leave the oven off until the glass is replaced, since a cracked panel can give way further once it heats. A door that only droops is less urgent, although it wastes heat onto the cabinet and bakes the front of the pan unevenly. - Why does my SO30-2U door close crooked?
